BIRTHDAY

Recently i celebrated my birthday (as you already know from my profile that i am a taurean ) . Anyway , it was not a grand celebration , like the present trend of BIRTHDAY PARTIES . But i enjoyed the whole day.I recieved many calls throughout the whole day - from my parents , in laws , relatives and friends . And i was also wished in my social networking sites !!! Those were real surprise to me .

I made cake in my microwave oven - though due to lack of practice , it became a bit hard inside . but my husband decorated it with sweet cream on the top .

Some close relatives came to our house in the evening.For dinner i made chicken ( not the oily and spicy one , rather it was simple chicken curry ) .

I enjoyed the day. Without any lavishness or extravagant events , i enjoyed every bit of it.It was a peaceful day . I felt a completeness in me. At the end of the day- I was full of good and encouraging spirit in me.I think that was the most important realisation for me. Birthdays give us a chance to reconnect with our origin , to cherish our childhood memories and to remember those who helped us to grow up (teaching us with love and caring ) . It is upto us whether we carry the tradition in us or submerge ourselves completely in this ever changing-fast pacing world .

LAAGA CHUNRI MEIN DAAG--THE FILM

Yesterday i watched LAAGA CHUNRI MEIN DAAG- a film by yash raj productions.Though this film was not successful in the box office,but i loved it.To be very frank- i love yash raj films.They have traditional values , romantic stories , beautiful locations , nice actors , powerful dialogues and good music .

Now a days indian film industry is going through such a rapid change that films like LCMD may seem a bit cliche regarding storyline.Yeah , i agree to that . But i loved the simple story , acting of all the casts , direction , songs and the screenplay also. Talking about the cast - RANI , KONKONA ,ABHISHEK , JAYA BACHCHAN , and ANUPAM KHER -I LOVE TO SEE THEM ON SCREEN.Not to forget -TINU ANAD , SUSHANT SINGH and KUNAL KAPOOR.The film is a story of struggle and triumph , it contains some memorable moments - specially by jaya bachchan.

WOW ! WOW ! WOW ! For how long will i keep on talking about this film? You must be getting bored reading it.I will write more about YRF in my future blogs.now , lets change the topic.I am also following IPL these days and supporting KKR because of SRK and KOLKATA.Yesterday they have won the match wih duckworth-lewis rules , but i would be happier if they have won the match in the proper way (after the whole 40 over game ) . Anyway,it is already a matter of the past.And we should always live in the PRESENT MOMENT.So at this very moment i am going to have my lunch.Do let me know how you felt about the film or the match .

AN EXPERIMENT GONE WRONG ( IN THE KITCHEN )

Today i am starting from my home front .In the morning i discovered that that i had some over ripe bananas . Instead of making the boring KOLAR BORA (sweet fried snacks made of banana ) , i wanted to try something new.So i searched the net and came with the idea of making BANANA CAKE. I went to the kitchen , arranged all the ingredients and started to mix them.At this point i discovered that i had 3 bananas instead of 1 as mentioned in the recipe.So i started adding thrice the quantity of each item needed.But NOW COMES THE TWIST IN THE STORY.I realised that i had only 1 1/2 cup of all purpose flour ( maida ).It was a time to take decision,and i decided to add simple flour (atta ) instead of all purpose flour . But believe me that was the only exception from the original recipe. I kept all the other ingredients intact.

You know,they say -WHEN YOU ARE MAKING A CAKE BE SURE TO ADD ALL THE INGREDIENTS ACCORDING TO EXACT MEASUREMENT. I knew it all but i thought somehow i will manage.

DECLARATION OF THE RESULT -
After baking the mixture for almost 1 hour , i realised that IT was not going to become/evolve ( ! ) into a cake . No doubt the mixture became a bit thick,but that's all..

A SOLUTION-
Thus my 1st attempt failed.
I was so sad ...
But my spirit was not down .
Suddenly I was full of new ideas about the situation .
I decided to deep fry the mixture in white oil .
I did that and made some fried banana cakes ( if i can say so ).


Now that's all i have to describe about my new experiment .Hope you've enjoyed reading it . I would love to hear from you , any such incidents from your kitchen .

SWEET MEMORIES

Today i am going to write about my profession , though now it is a previous one.As you all know , now a days i am into blogging.

Ok,to start with , i was a teacher for many years , i mainly dealt with primary class students.So those days were filled with many many innocent questions from students , my attempt to teach them discipline , to make them intersted and concentrate in studies (which obviously they hated...) , and most of all attending to their never ending problems.Now the PROBLEMS were of different kinds - starting from going to loo , to sharpening their pencils , to identifying and searching their books and notebooks from their bag according to periods , filling their water bottles , teaching them to use napkin in the lunch time....and many such trivial happenings .I had to tell them the instructions again and again and again , solving their problems repeatedly ...until i would lost my temper and shout to one of them !!! That would have been enough to make them quiet for sometime (say about 10 minutes!). wow ! They were really SCOLDING-PROOF,as you can understand that i coined this word just now , to express my observation. Coming back to class , after 10 minutes my students would become their normal self again.

Now you must have got some idea why those were the most memorable years of my life.I will write more on this topic in future.

Now i am ending my post for today.Tomorrow i will discuss a new topic.

NEW YEAR / POILA BOISHAKH

Yesterday we celebrated the beginning of a new year in different parts of our country.Though we call it in different names (according to the local cultures) , but the main idea is to start a-fresh.We all know that a year comes and goes , and this pattern goes on and on , following the calculation of time. But that is only the mechanical part.From emotional and social point of view , the new year ends the previous year and brings us to a new beginning.So we must respect what life teaches us , i.e. ,what has already happened is past.we can no more do anything about it ;but what is coming is future,and it is in our hands to create the future.

According to the laws of nature,this year will also pass , giving way to the next year.If we work hard,try to be truthful and cultivate only positive temperament - then probably by the next year end we will feel good about ourselves.

This is my personal opinion.you may or may not agree with me.I will be happy to know your observations about new year.do let me know.

Now i will take your leave.I will go to cook for dinner- and for those who are interested , i will make cauliflower today , my husband's favourite- so bye for now.

13 B

Yesrerday i watched 13 B. I loved it.It took me into a mysterious unknown world for the time being , and kept me glued to the chair.I loved R. MADHAVAN from his SEA HAWKS days.so i wanted to watch this film for some weeks.And i also like SACHIN KHERKAR.13 B was really a good film and a scary one too,at least for me.In fact last night i woke up once and started remembering incidents from the film.So that's my opinion about that film.

Now in the homefront ,i was at home,as usual,doing simple household chores.Little busy making the list of grocery items to buy.

Now i will have to go for dinner.So,for now,its bye from me.

The Prelude...

Today is a great day for me as i am entering the world of blogging.i have been a professional for many years but for a long time i have been thinking to take a new step.at first i was really confused to choose the path.since last week,i zeroed on blogging because i think this is where i can express my opinions,observations and wishes freely.
There is a relief as you take a decision after a long confused state of mind.right now i am experiencing that.i will try to post daily on my blog.
