'Michchhami Dukkadam'

Few years back, I came to know about a festival called - 'Michchhami Dukkadam', it is a festival according to Jainism. It means- "may all the evil that has been done be fruitless". This is celebrated on the annual day, that is the last day of the Jain year.

Such a nice concept! I was so happy knowing about it! In today's world, mostly peole are not ready to accept their mistakes. And here we have a festival where people actually admit their mistakes, ask for forgiveness and also wish their wrong deeds to go in vain. Very very higher concept and liberating! Really amazing to know such a festival which asks us to be aware of our wrong doings, admit them and try to nullify them.

Nice way to inculcate values in us :). It shows the importance of forgiveness in our life, which we all need to remember always.

Excerpts from The Uddhava Gita- The 24 Teachers (Part 1)

Uddhava Gita is a part of Shrimad Bhagwat. I REALLY RELLY LOVE Uddhava Gita because of its Direct approach and its Elaborate nature!

Uddhava was a Friend/ Brother and a Devotee of Shri Krishna. He asked for 'True Knowledge' from the Lord, before HE went to His abode- Golok. In this part of 'Shrimad Bhagwat', Krishna answered many questions asked by Uddhava, so we have a separate book called 'Uddhava Gita', compiling all those grave, meaningful and really Wonderful shlokas:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uddhava_Gita

( http://srimadbhagavatam.com/11/14/en - beginning of 'Uddhava Gita')

Now I am posting the story of a king Yadu, who encountered a Brahmin, asked him about himself. While answering him, the Saint talked about 24 Teachers, who taught him many many lessons in life! To day I am posting about only the first 9 teachers. We have so much to learn from the Nature!!! Just go thr' this part from 'Uddhava Gita':

25. Maharaja Yadu once observed a certain brahmana avadhuta, who appeared to be quite young and learned, wandering about fearlessly. Being himself most learned in spiritual science, the King took the opportunity and inquired from him as follows.

26. Sri Yadu said: O brahmana, I see that you are not engaged in any practical religious activity, and yet you have acquired a most expert understanding of all things and all people within this world. Kindly tell me, sir, how did you acquire this extraordinary intelligence, and why are you traveling freely throughout the world behaving as if you were a child?

27. Generally human beings work hard to cultivate religiosity, economic development, sense gratification and also knowledge of the soul, and their usual motive is to increase the duration of their lives, acquire fame and enjoy material opulence.

28. You, however, although capable, learned, expert, handsome and most eloquent, are not engaged in doing anything, nor do you desire anything; rather, you appear stupefied and maddened as if you were a ghostly creature.

29. Although all people within the material world are burning in the great forest fire of lust and greed, you remain free and are not burned by that fire. You are just like an elephant who takes shelter from a forest fire by standing within the water of the Ganges River,

30. O brahmana, we see that you are devoid of any contact with material enjoyment and that you are traveling alone, without any companions or family members. Therefore, because we are sincerely inquiring from you, please tell us the cause of the great ecstasy that you are feeling within yourself.

31. Lord Krsna continued: The intelligent King Yadu, always respectful to the brahmanas, waited with bowed head as the brahmana, pleased with the King’s attitude, began to reply.

32. The brahmana said: My dear King, with my intelligence I have taken shelter of many spiritual masters. Having gained transcendental understanding from them, I now wander about the earth in a liberated condition. Please listen as I describe them to you.

33-35. O King, I have taken shelter of twenty-four gurus, who are the following: the earth, air, sky, water, fire, moon, sun, pigeon and python; the sea, moth, honeybee, elephant and honey thief; the deer, the fish, the prostitute Pingala, the kurara bird and the child; and the young girl, arrow maker, serpent, spider and wasp. My dear King, by studying their activities I have learned the science of the self.

36. Please listen, O son of Maharaja Yayati, O tiger among men, as I explain to you what I have learned from each of these gurus.

37. A sober person, even when harassed by other living beings, should understand that his aggressors are acting helplessly under the control of God, and thus he should never be distracted from progress on his own path. This rule I have learned from the earth. (1)

38. A saintly person should learn from the mountain (2) to devote all his efforts to the service of others and to make the welfare of others the sole reason for his existence. Similarly, as the disciple of the tree (3), he should learn to dedicate himself to others.

39. A learned sage should take his satisfaction in the simple maintenance of his existence and should not seek satisfaction through gratifying the material senses. In other words, one should care for the material body in such a way that one’s higher knowledge is not destroyed and so that one’s speech and mind are not deviated from self-realization.

40. Even a transcendentalist is surrounded by innumerable material objects, which possess good and bad qualities. However, one who has transcended material good and evil should not become entangled even when in contact with the material objects; rather, he should act like the wind. (4)

41. Although a self-realized soul may live in various material bodies while in this world, experiencing their various qualities and functions, he is never entangled, just as the wind (4) which carries various aromas does not actually mix with them.

42. A thoughtful sage, even while living within a material body, should understand himself to be pure spirit soul. Similarly, one should see that the spirit soul enters within all forms of life, both moving and nonmoving, and that the individual souls are thus all-pervading. The sage should further observe that the Supreme Personality of Godhead, as the Supersoul, is simultaneously present within all things. Both the individual soul and the Supersoul can be understood by comparing them to the nature of the sky (5): although the sky extends everywhere and everything rests within the sky, the sky does not mix with anything, nor can it be divided by anything.

43. Although the mighty wind blows clouds and storms across the sky, the sky is never implicated or affected by these activities. Similarly, the spirit soul is not actually changed or affected by contact with the material nature. Although the living entity enters within a body made of earth, water and fire, and although he is impelled by the three modes of nature created by eternal time, his eternal spiritual nature is never actually affected.

44. O King, a saintly person is just like water (6) because he is free from all contamination, gentle by nature, and by speaking creates a beautiful vibration like that of flowing water. Just by seeing, touching or hearing such a saintly person, the living entity is purified, just as one is cleansed by contact with pure water. Thus a saintly person, just like a holy place, purifies all those who contact him because he always chants the glories of the Lord.

45. Saintly persons become powerful by execution of austerities. Their consciousness is unshakable because they do not try to enjoy anything within the material world. Such naturally liberated sages accept foodstuffs that are offered to them by destiny, and if by chance they happen to eat contaminated food, they are not affected, just like fire (7), which burns up contaminated substances that are offered to it.

46. A saintly person, just like fire, sometimes appears in a concealed form and at other times reveals himself. For the welfare of the conditioned souls who desire real happiness, a saintly person may accept the worshipable position of spiritual master, and thus like fire he burns to ashes all the past and future sinful reactions of his worshipers by mercifully accepting their offerings.

47. Just as fire manifests differently in pieces of wood of different sizes and qualities, the omnipotent Supreme Soul, having entered the bodies of higher and lower life forms created by His own potency, appears to assume the identity of each.

48. The various phases of one’s material life, beginning with birth and culminating in death, are all properties of the body and do not affect the soul, just as the apparent waxing and waning of the moon (8) does not affect the moon itself. Such changes are enforced by the imperceptible movements of time.

49. The flames of a fire appear and disappear at every moment, and yet this creation and destruction is not noticed by the ordinary observer. Similarly, the mighty waves of time flow constantly, like the powerful currents of a river, and imperceptibly cause the birth, growth and death of innumerable material bodies. And yet the soul, who is thus constantly forced to change his position, cannot perceive the actions of time.

50. Just as the sun (9) evaporates large quantities of water by its potent rays and later returns the water to the earth in the form of rain, similarly, a saintly person accepts all types of material objects with his material senses, and at the appropriate time, when the proper person has approached him to request them, he returns such material objects. Thus, both in accepting and giving up the objects of the senses, he is not entangled.

51. Even when reflected in various objects, the sun is never divided, nor does it merge into its reflection. Only those with dull brains would consider the sun in this way. Similarly, although the soul is reflected through different material bodies, the soul remains undivided and nonmaterial.

Happy Buddha Purnima!

Belated Buddha Purnima Wishes to all of you! This post is dedicated to Gautama Buddha on the ocaasion of Buddha Purnima!

Budhham Sharanam Gachchhaami
Dharmam Sharanam Gachchhaami
Sangham Sharanam Gachchhaami.

It is said that one of the greatest spiritual teachers of mankind the world has ever seen is Gautam Buddha. Buddha was born around 543 BC as Siddhartha, the only son of Shuddhodana, the King of Kapilavastu. He is believed to have lived a very sheltered and protected life till the age of 29. He was completely ignorant of what miseries and sorrows were all about. He did not know the tragedies of everyday life. One day the prince desired to see the city. The King ordered that the city should be all gay and grand, so that everywhere his son would meet with only pleasing sights. In spite of the preparation, Siddhaartha witnessed some startling glimpses of life- he was shocked to see the harsh realities of life when he viewed an old man, a sick and disabled person and a dead body for the first time in his life. The fourth vision was of an ascetic who looked at peace with himself, which led Siddharth to search for the true meaning of life, renouncethe luxury and worldly pleasures and look for enlightenment. He wandered to many places and ultimately attained enlightenment in Bodhgaya under a 'pipal' tree. Since then he was known as Gautam Buddha or the 'Enlightened One', who is completely free from all faults and mental obstructions. Lord Buddha is considered the ninth avatar (incarnation) of Vishnu ('Preserver' in the Hindu Holy Trinity of Creator-Preserver-Destroyer).

Buddha Jayanti (also known as Buddha Purnima ) is the most sacred festivals of Buddhists, which is celebrated in remembrance Lord Buddha, the founder of Buddhism. This day is the birth anniversary of Lord Buddha. It falls on the full moon of the fourth lunar month (month of Vaisakh) i.e. April or May. This day commemorates three important events of Buddha's life

- His birth in 623 BC.
- His enlightment i.e. attainment of supreme wisdom, in 588 BC.
- His attainment of Nirvana, i.e. the complete extinction of his self at the age of 80.

Thus, it is a thrice blessed day. On this day, Buddhists all over the world commemorate these three great events. They reaffirm their faith in the Buddha Dharma, to lead a noble religious life. It is a day for meditation and for radiating Loving-Kindness.

The teachings of the Buddha are solely to liberate human beings from the misery and sufferings of life. According to the Buddhism, sorrow and desire are the maincause of all the evil and suffering of this world. Lord Buddha advocated theEightfold Path consisting of precepts like right conduct, right motive, right speech, right effort, right resolve, right livelihood, right attention and right meditation to gain mastery over suffering. It is only after following this path one can reach the ultimate aim of 'Nirvana', which is the 'transcendental state of complete liberation'.

Buddha travelled many places teaching hundreds of followers. Even after death his disciples continued to spread his teachings. Rich and poor alike were attracted by the simplicity of Buddha's teaching and his emphasis on complete equality of all, a notion antithetical to the 'existing' Hindu caste system. The Mauryan Emperor Ashoka supported the Buddhist religion in the 3rd century B.C. and helped in spreading it far and wide. Sarnath and Bodhgaya are two of the most important pilgrimage centres for the Buddhists. Buddhism originated in India and later, it has gained tremendous popularity throughout the Far East in Asia.

I have always Loved the philosophies of Gautama Buddha, from the time I read about them in History books during my school days. Somehow, all these Four 'Aarya Satyas' (Four Noble Truths:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four_Noble_Truths) and the 'Ashangika Maarg'(Noble Eightfold Path :- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noble_Eightfold_Path ) always attracted me. I used to get surprised to think about Siddhartha, who, in spite of being a Prince, felt disgusted with the riches of a royal life, went for the search of Truth, his determined attempts of finding the Truth, the Enlightnment, the Lessons, the Peace, Calmness in his face, the 'Pragyna' in him- all these have attracted me towards Gautama Buddha from the childhood. Great are his teachings, make us feel so elevated and fills us with Peace when we try to follow them in our daily life!

Lots and Lots of Best Wishes to all of you on this Pious Occasion! Hug Hug Hug

Navadha Bhakti: The Nine ways of Devotion

This is an excellent topic I was thinking to write about for a long time. Recently one of my Dear Sister Vedo from IF posted the Lyrics with English Translation. So thought to share it with all of you.

Shabri Ma wanted to learn more from Sri Ram about the path of Bhakti (Devotion). Thus Sri Ram explained:

1) Pratham Bhagati Santan kar sangaa

The first step to devotion (Bhakti) is to keep company of the Saintly

2) Doosri rati mam kathaa prasangaa

The second step is to enjoy listening to discourses pertaining to the Lord.

3) Guru pankaj seva, teesri bhakti amaan

The third step, is to believe, humbly in Guru/God.

4) Chouthi Bhagati mam gun gaan, karai kapat tajee gaan

The fourth step is earnestly (without hypocrisy) sing the praises of the Lord.

5) Mantra jaap mam dridh Visvaasaa, Pancham, bhajan jo Ved Prakaasaa

Chant the Vedic Mantras with immense faith.

6) Chattha dasa seela birati bahu karmaa, nirat nirantara sajjan dharma

The sixth step is not to react in adverse circumstances, yet act, perform ones karma, like the great ones do.

7) Saatvam sam mohi main jag dekhaa, motey sant adhik kar lekhaa

The seventh step is to perceive the world as God Himself. And believe the saintly to be greater than the Lord.

8) Aathvam jathaa laabh santoshaa, sapneu nahin, dekhai par doshaa

The eighth, is a state (which one arrives at when one travels the first seven steps) where there is no desire left, but the gift of perfect peace. (In this state) one does not see fault in others, even in a dream.

9) Navam saral sab san chhal heena, mam bharos heenya harash na deenaa

In this state one has full faith in the Lord, becomes (child-like) simple with no hypocrisy. In this state, he does not fly high or sink low (but becomes equanimous).

These lines are from Tulsidasji's RamcharitManas. Ramnanad Sagarji used a modified version of this part in his TV Serial Ramayan. Here is the video:

And the Lyrics from the serial, posted by Shivang:

Navdha bhagati kahahun tohin paahi, Saavdhaan sunu, dhar man maahi.
Now I am telling you about 9 types of devotion to which you carefully pay attention and imbibe into heart.

Pratham bhagati santan kar sangaa, Dusari rati Prabhu kathaa prasangaa.
First type of devotion is 'To seek company of saint people', and the second type is 'To develop love for attending the events of story telling about Lord.'

Gurupad pankaj sevaa, teesari bhagati amaan,
Chauthi bhagati Prabhu gun-gan, karai kapat tyaji gaan.
Third is 'To serve the lotus feet of Guru without any pride/ego', and fourth is 'To sing the virtues of Lord leaving aside all the cunningness/decietfulness.'

Mantra-jaap Prabhu dradh biswaasaa, Pancham bhajan suved-prakaashaa.
Fifth well known in Vedas is 'To chant the mantras of Lord keeping faith on that Supreme power of Universe',

Chhath dam sheel virati bahu karmaa, Nirat nirantar sajjan dharmaa.
Sixth type is 'To regulate senses, to have pure character & nature, detachment from excessive works/ambitions and to follow continuously duties of noble man'.

Saatam sam Harimay jag dekhaa, Hari te sant adhik kari lekhaa.
Seventh is 'To see the entire universe equally staying in Lord and to treat devotee saints more than God'.

Aatham jathaa laabh santoshaa, Swapanehu nahi dekhahi pardoshaa.
Eighth is 'To feel contented with whatever available and not to look at anyone's faults to be one's faults even in dreams.'

Navam saral sab san chhal heenaa, Hari bharos hiy harash n deenaa.
Ninth is 'To follow simplicity and innocence in behaviour with all without cheating anyone ever and to keep faith in heart in all situations with neutrality of reactions in both joyful & sorrowful situations.

Navdha bhagati sabari kehe denhi, Saadar Sabari sis dhari linhi.
Thus, HE conveyed the knowledge of nine types of devotion to Shabari and Shabari also grasped the message like an order of Lord with total respect.

A Motivational Story

My Dear Sister Lola shared this Beautiful story in India-Forums. Just thought to post it here, it has really a great message with it! We all need to have Patience and a Strong Faith in the ways of the Lord!

Once there was a sweeper in a well known temple who was very devout and pure of heart. Each day he saw thousands of devotees coming to worship the Lord, laying all their troubles at his feet for him to solve.

The naive sweeper was overcome with worry that God may be getting tired of this daily routine, and the people's prayers may suffer for it. So one morning very innocently he asked the Lord whether he can take his place for a day so that the Lord can have some relief and rest.

The deity situated in the Temple replied, "I do not mind taking a break. I will endow you with this statue form just like mine, but you must do one thing. You must just stand here like me, smile at everyone, and just give benedictions. Do not interfere with anything and do not say anything. Remember you are the deity representing me, and just have faith that I have a master plan for everything." The sweeper agreed to this.

The next day the sweeper took the position of the deity and a rich man came and prayed to the Lord. He offered a nice donation and prayed that his business should be prosperous. While going, the rich man inadvertently left his wallet full of money right there. Now the sweeper in the form of deity could not call him and so he decided to control himself and keep quiet. Just then a poor man came and he put one coin in the bowl as it was all he could afford, and he prayed to the Lord that he should continue to be engaged in the Lord's service. He also said that his family was in dire need of some basic necessities but he left it to the good hands of the Lord to provide a solution when the time is right. When he opened his eyes, he saw the wallet left by the rich man. The poor man thanked the Lord for His kindness and took the wallet very innocently. The sweeper in the form of the Deity could not say anything and he had to just keep smiling.

At that point a sailor walked in. He prayed for a safe journey as he was going to embark on a long trip. Just then the rich man came with the police and said that somebody has stolen his wallet, and seeing the sailor there, he asked the police to arrest him thinking that he might have taken it.

Now the sweeper in the form of Deity wanted to say that the sailor is not the thief but he could not say so and he became greatly frustrated. The sailor looked at the Lord and asked why he, an innocent person, is being punished.

The rich man looked at the Lord and thanked Him for finding the thief. The sweeper in the deity form could no longer tolerate it, and he thought that even if the real Lord had been here, he would have definitely interfered, and hence he started speaking and said that the sailor is not the thief but it was the poor man who took away the
wallet. The rich man was very thankful as was the sailor.

In the night, the real Lord came and He asked the sweeper how the day was. The sweeper said, "I thought it would be easy, but now I know that Your days are not easy, but I did one good thing." Then he explained the whole episode to the Lord.

The Lord became very upset on hearing this whereas the sweeper thought the Lord would appreciate him for the good deed done. The Lord asked, "Why did you not just stick to the plan? You had no faith in Me. Do you think that I do not understand the hearts of all those who come here? All the donations which the rich man gave were comprised of stolen money and it is only a fraction of what he really has and he wants Me to reciprocate with sincerity and without limits. The single coin offered by the poor man was the last coin he had and he gave it to Me out of faith. The sailor might not have done anything wrong, but if he would have embarked on his journey then, the raging storm that occurred that night would have killed him. Had he been arrested for that short while, he would have been saved from this great calamity and soon enough, justice would have prevailed.

The wallet should go to the poor man because he will use it in My service. I was going to reduce the rich man's burden of bad karma also by doing this and save the sailor also. But you canceled everything because you thought you know My plan and you made your own plans."

God has plans and justice for everyone....we just have to have patience!!!!!

Remembering the Lord:Good Friday/Easter Wishes...

Here is a post on the occasional of the belated Festivals-Good Friday and Easter. Hope you all had great time!

He showed us the way
He has long been gone
And yet in our hearts
His name shines on.

Dear Friends, like every year, Good Friday has come and we are remembering the Sacrifice, the Compassion and the Mercy of the Lord.

Good Friday
(Source:-

When is Good Friday?

Good Friday is the Friday of Holy Week, the Friday before Easter Sunday.

Why is it called Good Friday?

It is thought that the name Good Friday is an altered form of God's Friday. Some people say that Good Friday is the most appropriate name for the day as it shows God's goodness to sinful people as it opened up the way to God for mankind.

What does Good Friday remember?

Good Friday was the day when Jesus stood trial before the Priests and later a Roman Governor called Pilate. Although Pilate could not find any wrong in Jesus, He was still sentenced to death by crucifixion. Later that day after having been beaten and mocked Jesus was crucified. He died in the afternoon. His body was taken from the cross and put into a guarded tomb.
The story of Good Friday is found in The Bible, Matthew chapters 26 - 27, Mark chapters 14 - 15, Luke chapters 22 - 23 and John chapters 18 - 19.

Good Friday

What do Christians believe is special about Good Friday?
Good Friday is a day when Christians remember in a special way what Jesus did for them. It is the day that Christians remember God allowing Jesus, his perfect son, to take the world's sin onto Himself and take the punishment for it by being crucified. This meant that Jesus was then separated from God because God cannot keep company with sin. However, this is not the end of the story as on Easter Day Jesus rose from death proving that God had overcome sin and death
Christians believe that when Jesus died He took the punishment for all of their individual sins. This means that Christians are acceptable to God because they can be forgiven and so God can keep company with them. Christians believe that they will spend their time after their death in God's company, in Heaven..

How is Good Friday celebrated?

Good Friday is a time of sadness and thankfulness. Some Christians will fast on Good Friday. This could mean missing one or more meals or avoiding some kinds of foods. This helps them remember the sacrifice Jesus made for them on the day of crucifixion. It is a special time of asking for forgiveness.
Many churches will hold a special service on Good Friday. This may be a communion service in the evening or a time of prayer during the day, especially around 3 o'clock as that is about the time of day when Jesus died. Some people will join processions around towns where the story of Jesus' journey to the cross is acted out or read. In some churches pictures and statues are covered over and there will be no flowers or any other decoration. The Priest will wear black. It is seen as a time of mourning.
In many towns and cities there will be three crosses put on a high point on its outskirts as a reminder of Jesus' crucifixion between two criminals.

And after that we have Easter:

The spirit of Easter is all about Hope, Love and Joyful living.

(Source- Wikipedia:)

The New Testament accounts of the resurrection and ascension of Jesus, state that the first day of the week after the crucifixion (typically interpreted as a Sunday), his followers encounter him risen from the dead, after his tomb is discovered to be empty. The resurrected Jesus appears to them that day and a number of times thereafter, delivers sermons and commissions them, before ascending to Heaven. Two of the Canonical gospels (Luke and Mark) include a brief mention of the Ascension, but the main references to it are elsewhere in the New Testament.

Just loved this comment on Jesus Christ made by a member under a video in YouTube and thought to share it with you all:

"Greatest man in history, named Jesus, had no servants, yet they called him Master. Had no degree, yet they called him Teacher. Had no medicines, yet they called him Healer. He had no army, yet kings feared Him. He won no military battles, yet he conquered the world. He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him. He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today."

On this auspicious day, wishing you all that:

May His light guide your path...
May his love grace your heart...
And may His scarifice strengthen
Your Soul on this Holy Day and Always.

And also wishing you all Happy Easter:

"I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me shall never die"
As the season of Resurrection comes,
May the miracle of Easter fill you heart with joy!

Visit to Akshardham Temple, Delhi

Recently, we went to Akshardham Temple in Delhi. Smile Wanted to tell you all about the visit :-

- There they have this wonderful Garden of India (Info from Wikipedia:- "Also known as the Bharat Upavan, this garden has lush manicured lawns, trees, and shrubs. The garden is lined with bronze sculptures of contributors to India's culture and history. These sculptures include children, women, national figures, freedom fighters, and warriors of India.")

Happy Janmashtami: My favourite Actors who acted in the Role of Krishna-1

On this auspicious day of Janmashtami, I decided to write about the actors who played the role of Krishna on-screen and Influenced me a lot. But sadly, could not include all the pictures and informations in single post, so now I am posting the first part here. (The numbers in the heading are not any ranking or any partiucular order, they are a part of the whole series of three posts, which is the reason of the inclusion of the number in the heading)

Now, I am starting with Swapnil Joshi. He acted in the role of young Krishna in Ramanand Sagar's Shri Krishna Serial. He has done such a nice work, that he just took the hearts of all the fans with him... His playfulness, his emotions, his philosophical discussions- all are delivered by him in very very Natural Way! I love to see him on screen. All his scenes are full of the Bliss and Love which we relate with the Lord. He has also shown serious acting skill in all the scenes of deep Spiritual discussions. Swapnil has been truly the image of the Lord who is very easy to approach. His performances in Vrindavan, Mathura, Gurukul and Jarasandh, Uddhava Vraj Yatra episodes- all are Great! Truly he has made the young Krishna come alive in front of us by his Wonderful Performance!

Reflections on a Rainy Day

Today it is raining heavily here in Delhi. I was sitting by the window throughout the whole day, watching rain, because there was no electricity:) :). I was, in fact, enjoying the rain. I never loved rain, specially getting drenched in the rain:(. But today, I was at home, so was able to Enjoy the drops failing from the sky.

And suddenly I remembered a scene from a film I watched recently. It was a Sanskrit movie named– Adi Shankaracharya. It is about the great Seer of 8 th century, who made the tough Vedas and Upanishadas easy for us by writing extensive commentaries on them. Later I will try to write about the film in details.

There we have a nice scene, where he says to his disciples that “Shudhhe hridaye, sarvam shuddham” (When the heart is pure, everything else is Pure). (At 2:30 min of the video)

And after that we have some lines from his famous work ‘Bhaja Govindam’ , where he tells us to turn towards God, as that is the only way of our Salvation.
If anyone is interested, Here is the Video of that scene:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ge-uHt9ib1w&feature=related
(It starts from 2:30 min to 4:25 min. Again it from 5:23 min and continues till 6:10 min.)
The following is the portion of Bhaja Govindam covered in the scene:-
sampraapte sannihite kaale
nahi nahi rakshati Dukrijn karane .. (1)

Oh fool! Rules of Grammar will not save you at the time of your death.
angam galitam palitam mundam
dashanavihiinam jatam tundam.
vriddho yaati grihiitvaa dandam
tadapi na muchchatya ashaapindam.. (15)

Strength has left the old man's body; his head has become bald, his gums toothless and leaning on crutches. Even then the attachment is strong and he clings firmly to fruitless desires.
bhaja govindam bhaja govindam
govindam bhaja muudhamate .

Worship Govinda, Worship Govinda, Worship Govinda.
punarapi jananam punarapi maranam
punarapi jananii jathare shayanam.
iha samsaare bahudustaare
kripayaa apaare paahi muraare. (21)

Born again, death again, birth again to stay in the mother's womb ! It is indeed hard to cross this boundless ocean of samsara. Oh Murari ! Redeem me through Thy mercy.

bhajagovindam bhajagovindam
govindam bhaja muudhamate .

Worship Govinda, Worship Govinda, Worship Govinda.

I was So Touched by the messege, that today it just came to my mind while watching the rain and kept on repeating itself. It was Really a nice experience!
